Tea notes: GNO dinner, cozy books to read this month, and a carry-on packing guide
Feeling all the fall feels today
And just like that… it feels like fall.
We celebrated my girlfriend’s birthday at Brasserie Brixton last night. I love dinner with the girls because one, they fully appreciate your new earrings*, and two, you can get away with ordering like this:
Early this morning, we loaded the pups, refrigerator remnants, and haphazardly packed weekend bags into our SUV to head up to the lake. The drive up was spectacular, with ribbons of yellow-gold streaked across the evergreen mountains. I’m looking forward to some (probably bad) golf and very breathless hiking (so out of shape!) this weekend.
Dropping a few favorite links:
Loving my newest desk accessory — I found this sleek laptop stand in Sarah Peddicord’s stories:
I’ve been itching to inject a bit more warmth and color into our home. Loved the inspiration
shared of “eclectic and collected spaces that still really feel calming.”Between the real talk about her daddy issues, the “non beef” with Martha Stewart, and pre-paying her publisher for half of the initial print run of her first book — this Ina Garten profile was refreshingly frank and pretty fascinating.
In a reading rut?
(my go-to for all things books) invited several writers and authors to share the best books to read this fall. Just downloaded Big Fan by Alexandra Romanoff and Didion & Babitz by Lili Anolik to my Kindle. You’ll want to bookmark this immediately:
’s 15-day carry-on packing guide is pretty much my ideal packing methodology. Soo many genius tips included. The 100% wool coat I mentioned a few weeks ago* arrived and I’m fully obsessed. It’s sumptuous, warm, and everything I would want in an investment coat. The weather hasn’t cooled off enough for me to wear it out, but that hasn’t stopped me from throwing it on occasionally to admire its perfectly oversize drape.
Have a wonderful weekend!
P.S. How to buy a cabin and all the lake vibes.
I was googling laptop stands yesterday, how did you know ...
the order consisting of snacks and carbs are soo girl coded haha
