Tea notes: a friend date idea, a classic summer dessert, and inspo for Greek parties (not that kind)
Get ready to charge your crystals
Happy summer solstice!
My dental hygienist alerted me to the fact that the strawberry moon is rising on Friday—apparently, it’s a great time to manifest your dreams. Rituals engaging nature may be particularly potent, according to some celebrity astrologers whose word is obviously gospel. I sent Mike a calendar hold for a moonlit boat ride. We will see if he delivers.
Last week
suggested a botanic gardens walk and coffee hang, and I’m not sure why the thought has never occurred to me. The ideal friend date to get a little movement while taking in the flowers and sunshine. (Subscribe to her v witty newsletter full of good links at .)We’re in that sliver of early summer where it’s not so outrageously hot that you can’t eat outside. We’ve been taking the last few weeks slow and easy: The other night we grilled veggies, lit a few candles, and sipped on Select/Ghia spritzes on our back patio and wondered why we haven’t been spending more time out there. It’s motivated me to finally look into getting that outdoor speaker installed.
A few favorite links of the week:
Are you a Rememberer or a Forgetter? On how memory might make us experience the world differently. For what it’s worth, through exercises in a personal narrative writing class, I’ve found that being more intentionally observant and documenting tiny moments makes me a better Rememberer.
I’ve been needing new gardening gloves and picked up these cuties* to make grabbing those prickly little weeds a little easier! I might need some Crocs to complete the look.
Loving all of these planter recs.
- -approved white tees, plus how to style a white tee.
This dessert is guaranteed to make you the most popular person at your next backyard bbq. I’m making uncouth amounts when my in-laws arrive for the 4th.
- is giving us all permission to have a boring girl summer. I have exactly zero travel plans on the horizon until a May 2025 wedding in Asia.
Currently fixated on the idea of acquiring a (preferably vintage) enamelware set for family-friendly, large group lakeside dining. Do I go with vintage CGS—aka the OG Crow Canyon? This set* in the cream and brown—so cute. Zara has a little camping line that I’m kind of into. Also swooning over this olive splatterware. Let me know if you have any outdoor dinnerware that you love.
Inspiration for throwing a Greek summer party. Imagining chic linen separates, bowls of lemons, crisp Assyrtiko.
- ’s Nice guide is everything.
Into all of this. Manifesting a boring girl summer for myself!!
The olive splatter enamelware is gorgeous!! I have a few enamel mugs and a loaf pan from Falcon Enamelware based in the UK that I do love. They have a rainbow of really lovely colors of their tumblers that I have always imagined spread across a festive party table. Lakeside sounds even better.
