Hello and happy Friday!
Last night, Steve ate an entire package of prosciutto and $16 worth of cheese off the coffee table while I was busy in the kitchen. (Steve is my cockapoo, and he is really proud of himself today.)
I’m playing all the jazz and feeling the spring vibes this week. Farmers’ markets, park picnics, snappy fresh produce, and lake weekends—here we come.
April highlights
My girlfriend threw the best dinner party the other week. Conversation, vinyl tunes, orange wine—all of it was so good. She made this focaccia recipe that was to-die-for. I’m not a confident bread-baker, but adding it to my to-try list.
Ronny Chieng came to Denver, and like a good Asian-supporting-Asians, I rounded up five white friends to go. We haven’t seen live comedy in years, and I cried-laughed the ENTIRE time. Can’t recommend his show more if he’s headed your way. I love the way a good comedy set perfectly captures the zeitgeist, from IVF to boomer parents to being influenced by the algorithm.
At the last minute, we snagged tickets to a Nuggets-Lakers playoff game. The energy was electric. While usually I’m most interested knowing what celebrities are sitting courtside (it’s basically Peyton Manning if we’re lucky), recently I’ve found myself refreshing the Gametime app and Facebook groups for NBA tickets. (Who am I!?)
We… bought a boat on Facebook Marketplace. My husband’s boat requirements involved like, horsepower and I honestly don’t know what else. My boat requirements were an expansive bimini top (because #shade) and for the upholstery to be in earth tones. Luckily this one checked both our boxes.
We had to drive to Fort Collins to look at said boat and stopped at Marigold, a cozy little farm-to-table restaurant on the way home. The chef from a favorite restaurant of ours that closed down a few years ago now heads the kitchen there. It really wasn’t “on the way” after all, but worth it. Best meal of the month!

These Agoldes* have been heavy in my rotation and have been getting all the compliments from my girlfriends. Love that you can wear them cuffed—or not! Size down for a higher-waisted fit, or go with your usual size for a low-slung baggy look.
In an effort to get a little more dressed up for date nights and girls’ nights I did a thorough shop of low-heeled sandals, and these Studio Amelia* sandals emerged victorious. Very much The Row vibes (not the jellies, though I wanna hear your thoughts) for less. Also thinking about these go-with-everything Zara sandals that my gf was wearing the other day.
