Five things for your spring table
Calla lilies, thinly sliced radish, and French coupes
How was your weekend?
We’re in the middle of third winter over here. Last weekend brought us 80 degree patio days—this weekend brought us the below snowstorm. Here was the view outside of our window yesterday:
I know, not cool. Like a fool, I had already stashed away my snow boots and puffer coat for the season.
Edited to add—30 hours later, this is what it looks like:
The temperamental weather had me craving ways to bring spring indoors. Thought I’d share a few things I’m into right now…
01 Calla lilies
Just a handful of these sculptural flowers can add so much whimsy to the table. (Use a small flower frog* to hold the stems in place in a tiny low bowl*.)
02 Thinly sliced radish
I always crave the fresh crunch of radish this time of year—on toast, with burrata, in salads! We love this Japanese mandoline* for achieving razor-thin slices. Also so good for shaving carrots, kohlrabi, or any other sturdy veggie you want to toss into a salad.
03 Silver coupes
I picked up a set of silver coupes from Alessi on Etsy during the holidays and have gotten a surprising amount of mileage out of them (keep your eyes peeled for a deal). They’re perfect for setting out tiny nibbles like olives and nuts, serving a creamy dip with a little herb garnish on top, or making a simple scoop of ice cream feel like a special treat. Search “French silver coupe” for something similar.
04 Green taper candles
Love how a touch of green makes a simple white table pop. These* are expensive, but my favorite for a high quality taper candle. These twisty tapers* look so fun! For a simple linen tablecloth, I like this shop.

05 Cakes decorated with floral accents
How fun is a colorful flower detail on a simply iced cake? The flower selection at my local Trader Joe’s has been on point lately with plenty of variety: snapdragons, daffodils, and peony tulips. (Also, can we bring back cupcakes?)
