Love these traditions! We travel and spend the holidays with both sides of our families, and it's funny to think of how different our traditions are with each. We do Xmas eve with my husband's side of the family, which is pretty nice and low-key: dinner and watch Christmas Vacation together. Then, we spend Xmas day with my family, which is usually a big get together with extended relatives and friends. Lots of food and karaoke (we're Filipino, so of course there's karaoke at Xmas, lol.) My other favourite tradition is on New Years Eve because we spend it together as just our little family of 4. My husband makes a fancy meal, and the kids and I help him make a new dessert recipe, then we watch an early countdown and call it a night.
Nothing beats a classic Asian potluck + karoake night!! Hahaha. Aw, I love the little family of 4 New Year tradition! My husband and I have been doing east coast New Year's for the past two years and falling asleep by 10:20 p.m... with no kids. so old lol
This was such a great read, thank you for writing about something completely unrelated to gift guides (they’re great, I am not trying to be a grinch!! I am just too overwhelmed to read them rn hahah) that was so sweet and personal for everyone. And made me think about the traditions in my own home with a new eye 💗💗 also crab leg buffet sounds like THE move honestly!
Aw thank you, this comment is the sweetest! I feel the same - I did a few gift guides last year but felt like I couldn’t possibly add anything interesting to the gift guide conversation at this point, hahaha. Thank you for reading! 🫶🫶
Christmas Eve fondue Isn’t one of my traditions but it is about to be! 🧀 I also love the meaningful ornaments. I try to get an ornament to every new city I visit. Then, every year when decorating the tree I can reflect on those memories 🫶🏼
Sign me up for dear of seven fishes please!!
I enjoyed this and have some ideas!
ooo can’t wait to hear yours! Ty for reading!

I need to do that! We usually get one for the big trip we take each year but my tree is pretty sparse - could def use some more memories on it!
So many great ideas! My favorite tradition is Joe filling my stocking with $200 worth of scratch lotto cards 😂
hope Santa puts one in my stocking too!!
Loved this, especially the crafting day idea!
defs stealing it for myself next year!
I absolutely loved reading about everyone else's holiday traditions, and IMO crab leg buffet does not sound like a bad one to bring back!

Omg what a great list! Getting me so excited for a little holiday cheer. Thanks for including me! Xo
v inspired to feast with fish (going to need to find more friends and family to come over to eat all the fishes though! hahah)
